“An
Investigation of the language learners progression in
effective writing”. It focuses on
writing skill. Learners will be observed how they write English written. Because
many learners are still confuse to make an appropriate sentences or paragraphs
in English. An appropriate sentences or paragraphs have agreement in
subject-verb agreement and also in grammatical. Sometimes, it is ignored by the
learners or even student in university.
The observation is done by researcher about mastering
in writing skill. It will be more focus on the meaning agreement and
grammatical of English written. To do this observation, the students are asked to
make a paragraph two times, for the example,
about hobby and the daily activity.
Firstly, researcher gives them an assignment to make
an paragraph about “your hobby”. In this assignment, they
also concern to using appropriate
preposition, tense, article subject-verb
agreement and etc. It is often ignored by learners
when they make an english sentences. For the example this is a university. It is wrong, the correct
is an university. The smallest thing
is always ignored by learners.
After
every steps was given by teacher, the next is to check and revise all of learners’ work. In this way, we can
know the progression of them. Start from their subject-verb agreement until
article we can know whether it has progression or not.
Finding Result.
In
the observation, the researcher find some progression in the writing process of
the learners of a Courses on 14 and
15 may 2016. Firstly, researcher gave a topic to 10 language learners about “My
Hobby “in two paragraphs only. In the first written there are only 2 students
that have quite good written. The two students of them have good in
subject-verb agreement and tenses. Meanwhile, 8 students are still need to
teach again about every material. Then researcher revised their answer and
corrected the answer of eight students. After they knew their mistake in the
tenses and subject- verb agreement, the researcher gave the topic again about
“My daily activity”. In the second assignment, ten of learners showed a good
progression. Their written began to be good because they used tenses in the
right condition and the subject-verb agreement is appropriate. It can be seen
in the following graphic of their progression in the writing skill with do two
times try out.
